New Delhi: India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) gives you the opportunity to enjoy internet banking and mobile banking. It offers many features to its customers including Mobile Banking, SMS Banking, Missed Call Banking, Phone Banking, QR card, etc.

Mobile banking services can be used through a mobile app so that the customers can access IPPB account and carry out transactions from their mobile phones. While the pre-requisites for availing India Post internet banking services are valid active single or joint savings account, know your customer (KYC) documents, mobile number and e-mail address and permanent account number (PAN)

How to register for Post Office mobile banking

1. To activate banking services on the go, download the IPPB app on your android phone from the google play store
2. Enter the details such as Account number, Customer ID (CIF) and DOB, and Registered mobile number
3. You will receive a one-time-password (OTP) on your registered mobile number
4. Set MPIN and enter the OTP

Alternatively, the eligible post office savings account holder can apply for the facility at any CBS head/sub-post office but not in branch offices. The account holder will have to submit the duly filled form (post office savings bank (POSB) ATM card, internet, mobile or SMS banking service request form) available with the post office. It may be noted that the KYC of the account holder should be completed. In case it is not completed then you might have to undergo the KYC process at the time of submitting your request form. Once the form is submitted at the branch, your mobile banking facility will be enabled after 24 hours. You can download the India Post Mobile Banking app from the Google Play store. Your CIF ID will be user ID and your transaction password will be the password set through internet banking facility.

The permissible limit for the wrong login is three attempts and five for the transaction password. In case, M-PIN is entered wrongly three times, the user ID will be disabled from logging in. However, if the transaction password is entered wrongly for five times, transaction rights will be disabled​. In case you forget your M-PIN, then use activate mobile banking tab and provide the required information sought by the application.​

How to register for Post Office internet banking

1. Visit your home branch, fill the pre-printed application form and submit it with all the required documents.
2. Once your request is processed, An SMS alert on your registered mobile number will be delivered
3. In the next step, open the DOP internet banking page by copying and pasting the URL given in the SMS. Now use the hyperlink "New user Activation".
4. Fill in the necessary details, configure your internet banking login password and transaction password. It is important to note here that both login and transaction passwords cannot be the same.
5. In the next step, for the successful activation of your internet banking user ID, login and configure security questions and answers along with passphrase.
